Stunt: "Art Attack" Performances
Client: Seattle Center artsEdge Festival

Muir Public Relations was hired to get the word out about a second-year arts festival organized by the Seattle Center with over 300 artists presenting everything from performance art to 'zines and paintings.

Muir distributed an unusual and striking media kit full of photos, information about the festival, and even a CD of new music being performed, which ultimately garnered the cover of the Seattle Post Intelligencer's "What's Happening" section.

To draw attention prior to the weekend event, Muir Public Relations staged "art attacks" all over town to showcase the artists. Graffiti artists spray-painted a bus at Westlake Center accompanied by hip-hop dancers. A performance artist performed on the monorail. The "art attacks" drew substantial pre-event print, radio and television coverage. TV and Radio news coverage appeared on KOMO 4 News at 5:00pm and 11:00pm, KING 5 News at 6:00pm, Q13 Reports at 10pm, and KIRO AM News at 5:00pm. Print coverage was extensive.

Attendance quadrupled from the prior year.
